The Board of Trustees are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Executive committee report directly to the Executive Director. Executive committee members have many oversight duties. They are responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of board policies and making sure that the policies are establishing and maintaining good governance practices. These activities include overseeing the company’s policies on ethics, security guidelines, quality management, human resources and regulations. Oversight duties also include overseeing ad hoc committees that work on policy development by making sure that they complete their objectives. Discussions of the executive committee should be encapsulated in their minutes, which they should present to the Executive Director in a timely manner.

Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan – Chairman

Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan was raised and educated in Bangladesh and United States Of America. He has extensive working experience in both business and non-profit social and religious organizations in the United States Of America. Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan is one of the founding members of Ideal Islamic School, Hillside Islamic Center and American Muslim Voice. He is the Chairman of Board of Trustees of Hillside Islamic Center, Darus Salam Masjid and American Muslim Voice. Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan served as the Chairman of Muslim Advisory Council of Nassau County under County Executive Edward Mangano. He is engaged in real estate development and management business.

Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan obtained his BS from Dhaka University, Bangladesh in 1981 and Business Management Certificate from NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 1987. He is married and blessed with two children.

Samsudeen Arakhan

Samsudeen Arakhan was born in Guyana, South America. He studied Chemical Engineering in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, after which he started a long career in public service with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. During his professional career, he served as Regional Environmental Engineer for the Hudson Valley region, managing a staff of over seventy five engineers, geologists and scientists; he also served as Regional Environmental Remediation Engineer for the five boroughs of New York City, managing a staff of approximately forty five engineers, geologists and scientists. Subsequent to his retirement after 32 years of State service, he joined a private engineering consulting firm in New York City as Director of Environmental Consulting Services. He is licensed by New York State as a Professional Engineer.

Mamun Al Karim

Mamun Al Karim was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his entry level studies in Dhaka, and moved to the United States for higher education. He earned his degree in Computer Science from Montclair State University in 2002. He joined Madina Corporation in 2003 as an IT manager, becoming its CEO in 2012. He has extensive business experience and knowledge in the IT field. He is serving as Board of Trustee members in Hillside Islamic center. He resides in Nassau County, married and blessed with three children.

Abdul Basir Kaz- Member

Abdul Basir Kazi was born in Junagardh India, has been a resident of New Hyde Park for over 38 years since emigrating from Pakistan in 1974. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kazi served as the Director of ProHEALTH Laboratories for over 19 years. In his role as Director, his key accomplishments included establishing brand new Clinical & Anatomical Pathology Laboratories as part of a new initiative for the healthcare company. Additionally, Mr. Kazi also worked at Winthrop University Hospital and North-well / LIJ Hospital for over 24 years in various research, technical & managerial roles.
Mr. Kazi earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biochemistry from the Karachi University and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center. He has been a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry for over 30 years and during 2014 – 2015, he served as President of the New York Metro section.

Mr. Kazi also spends a considerable amount of time volunteering and was a core member of the team that established both the Islamic Center of Long Island, Westbury and the Hillside Islamic Center. Additionally in 1975, he helped build the Alflah Masjid in Corona Queens, has volunteered as School Administrator at the start of Crescent School. He continues to volunteer at palliative care groups and soup kitchens throughout Long Island.

In 2016 retired completely from ProHEALTH and enjoys traveling historical places, nature & wonders of the world, with his wife, Rehana Hasan Kazi, (a retired Supervisor of Cytogenetics at Northwell Health/ LIJ). He traveled 28 countries covering six continents & visited 30 states of USA . His another hobby is Nature Photography. Additionally, he enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren, studies Quran, offer salat and take them to sports & museums.

Mohammed Abu Koush – Member

He was born in Jordan. He received his degree in Business Administration at the University of Jordan. He made his transition from Jordan to New York in 1986. His occupation is in the supermarket business and real estate. He currently reside in New Hyde Park since 1995.
