Quran Academy After-School Program

Dear Parents and Students,
Assalaamu ‘Alaikum,
We would like to welcome all the students and the parents. Our goal is to provide Islamic Education for young Muslims ages 5 and up and to build Muslim identity. We focus on three main subjects: Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies. Our class is held every week Monday- Thursday from 5:45 pm to 7:15 pm. We hope you all will have an exciting and educational school year. Here is some information you will find useful for you and your child. The academic year is all year round starting in the month of September and concluding in the month of August . Quran Academy is designed to help students ages 5 and up to learn the basic knowledge that will help them practice Islam in their daily lives. Parents are asked to facilitate their students’ practice of Islamic behavior. This includes being a partner with your child’s Islamic education such as reviewing homework, practice of salaah and recitation of Quran.

Our Vision
  • Quran Academy aims to develop, for its students, self-assurance as American Muslims with a commitment to honoring family, community involvement, and respecting others.
  • The program strives to instill ethical values in the students towards becoming productive and responsible members of our society.

I grew up learning and speaking Arabic so it brings me joy that I can pass on this knowledge about the language of the holy Quran. As the prophet (PBUH) said, “The best amongst you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it to others”. I love teaching the Quran and Duas because I receive good rewards for myself and my wonderful students. It is also to increase my own knowledge. May Allah (SWT) accept our deeds and duas and reward us in Al Jannah! aidaramadan65 at yahoo.com

Hf. Mashfih Chowdhury

Student at Darul Uloom New York. Completed my memorization of the Quran there and am currently in the Alim Course program. HIC is a wonderful community to be a part of and I enjoy my time as a teacher here. I enjoy inspiring students to be the best version of themselves and at the same time help them cope with everyday issues they may face in school. Teaching Quran and Tajweed is something that I enjoy as I feel that all students should have level of reciting Quran in younger years rather than later on in life when they become busy and occupied in other affairs.
